            *  Approval for permits of water systems serving 25 or fewer residents or 15 or less

                    service connections 

                *  Monitoring and regulation of individuals engaged in constructing water systems     

                *  Water sampling services for existing and newly constructed water systems

       RESIDENTIAL SEWAGE SYSTEMS PROGRAM

            *  Permits issued for systems serving residential dwellings up to tri-plexus 

                *  Soil examination of sites for septic systems

                *  Approval of system design 

                *  Inspection of construction of systems

                *  Regulation of installers

                *  Regulation of septic tank pumpers

                *  Regulation of septage disposal sites

                *  Investigation of sewage nuisance complaints

      FOOD PROTECTION PROGRAM

            *     The food protection program is designed to provide steps in the protection of 

                  the transmission of disease through improper handling of food for public 

                  consumption.  This program consists of licensing and inspecting all         

                  restaurants or Food Service Operations and grocery stores or Retail Food 

                  Establishments, investigating complaints of unwholesome or unsanitary 

                  conditions, and investigating of suspected and confirmed food borne illness 

                  within Williams County.

                

      PUBLIC POOLS / BATHING BEACHES

         

                *   Licensing inspections for safety use to determine possible contamination hazards,

                         proper water quality, circulation and filtering of water.

 

      MANUFACTURED HOME PARKS / CAMPGROUNDS

 

                *   Routine inspection of parks to insure proper home separation, support under

                         homes, electrical hazards, adequate streets.

      NUISANCES

            Handled by the Health Department:

              *  Rats, mice, or other type of vermin  

                 *  Garbage

                 *  General unsanitary conditions

 

                 Handled by other agencies:

                *  Junk automobiles or metals (village, city or sheriff's departments)

                 *  Tall grass (village, city or township trustees)

                 *  Open burning (village, city or OEPA in rural areas)
