Home Visits

    Public Health Nursing:  Nurses are available throughout the county to provide home visits to families of all ages.  Some services include parenting education, how to take care of infants and children, follow up to communicable diseases, medication dispensing, teaching and advocacy.

    Older Adult Nursing:  Older adults in Williams County are very special to the health department.  Besides providing home health care, public health nurses are available on an intermittent basis for teaching and follow up.  The Health Department is active on the countywide Older Adult Task Force and supports their many activities.

School Nursing

    The Health Department provides school nursing services to Edon, West Unity, North Central, and Stryker schools.  Services include the following:

•  immunizations

•  vision and hearing screening

•  kindergarten assessment

•  communicable disease prevention and follow up

•  health education and policy development

•  scoliosis screenings

•  counseling
