In 1987, the Bryan City Board of Health and the Williams County General Board of Health merged to become the Williams County Combined Board of Health creating a single health district for the county. 2012 Board of Health Meeting Minutes
The chairman of each township, mayors of each village, and the Bryan City Council appoint the Williams County Health District Board of Health members who serve for five-year terms. A licensing council made up of representatives of individuals who hold licenses issued to them by the department appoints one member to the board to represent license holder interests. Responsibilities of the Board of Health State law requires the board to report and take measures to control disease, enforce state public health laws and promote health and well being within the health district. The board is also responsible for the department's budget, hiring a health commissioner who serves as the executive officer of the district and is responsible for day-to-day activities. Meetings On the third Tuesday of each month the board meets at 7:00 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and meeting minutes are posted on this website for the public conveyance. See above for the dates for 2010. Members Include:
